The Australian newspaper in partnership with New York based Barron's (of Dow Jones and Co.), where the research team that compiles the US Top Advisers list, has put its considerable analytical skills to work in the Australian market.  Integral Private Wealth's own David Simon was featured in the list recognised 11th of the top 50 Financial Advisers in Australia.

"Our annual survey of financial advisers takes place at a time when the industry is under intense scrutiny from the royal commission into banks and financial services.  It is hard to recall a time in this country where the image has been so poor" wrote Helen Trinca Managing editor of The Australian newspaper.  Given this, Helen grappled with the timing of this list before deciding to release it feeling consumers need help in navigating their way through the negative stories.  "This package is about celebrating this group of advisers.  We do not want to ignore the abuses of the worst advisers, but nor do we want these to stand for the whole industry.  By shining a light on the best in the business with a Top 50 listing, we hope to set an example.  We hope to get good advisers to aspire to greatness, always with an eye towards putting the clients' best interest first" writes Helen.

The Top 50 Financial Advisers list is a joint venture between The Australian and New York-based Barron's - from the same stable as the The Wall Street Journal - which has been producing the US top advisers list since 2004.  Under the arrangement, the Barron's team collects, analyses and presents the data for the list - The Australian then creates the editorial.  Essentially, this to separate powers between the researchers and the writers; this robust structure eliminates any potential conflict of interest.  The mechanics of the list is Barron's application of advisers’ key data and variables.  There are three key categories of data: (A) Assets under management, (B) revenue and (C) quality of practice.  Key variables include fees, qualifications, length of time in the industry, regulatory track history, and charitable and philanthropic work.

David Simon felt honoured to be recognised in the list, however mindful of the job ahead "The privilege of advising clients on their financial wellbeing comes with a significant responsibility, one which I will never underestimate nor desensitize" says David.  He further adds the strength of Integral Private Wealth is its people "We have a highly educated, tremendously engaged and client centric team, this recognition is a testament to their commitment to serve our clients in the same way they would want to be served".
